DP ENTERTAINMENT ALONG WITH SWAGGA ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS PRETTY MONEY HOODOGRAPHY Trina knew exactly what she was doing when she formed the Dynamic Duo: PRETTY MONEY. Gracing the stage with their unique flows and different styles, Pretty Money are well on their way to the top. Following in their mentors steps, they will definitely be something you should look and listen out for on your local radio stations. SEXY AND THE RAP CITY Life for a woman is anything bust easy, that’s why young girls, look towards fashion, weekly trends and the opposite sex for a source of extra curriculum on a day to day bases. However you do have your small clusters of young ladies who devote a endless amount of time and energy into something more concrete, promising and most importantly something that taps into there creative side, and gains the attention of society.
This leisure pursuit is what mankind knows as the “rap game”. For years several individuals have look to music as a source of therapy to express or convey there emotions and to paint a picture to music fans all over the world. Examples of talented artist who use this strategy to form lyrics for popular rap music today are none other DP Entertainment and Swagga Entertainment rap group “Pretty Money”. The rap duo “Pretty Money” is formed by Miami natives, “Angel Diva” and “Nisha Rock Starr” two rap lyricist that are definitely a force to be reckoned with in the industry. Both Angel Diva and Nisha Rock Starr where raised in a single parent home, in the city of Miami, Florida. The young females MC’s have previously worked with various mainstream acts such as rap superstar Trina, Trick Daddy and Pretty Ricky to name a few. After both girls graduated from high school, they forged ahead and pursued a full time career in the music industry. “Both of us have been around the rap game for years prior to creating our own rap group, we decided that with the right team behind us, and by constructing the “perfect fit” for the group we were ready to jump into the industry and leave an everlasting impression.” At a first glance one would think that this new rap twosome is nothing more than a pair of cute faces, but after a first encounter with both Angel Diva and Nisha Rock Starr, one will notice that these fast paced, rigid girls are more than attractive but clever, witty and most importantly determined to show the world that they have “crossover lyrics and slick rhymes that are as good as any male counterpart in the rap game.”
In a male dominated music industry for several years female MC’s have been fronted with inflexible and hard barriers to be viewed as equal competition among other male rappers. Both members of “Pretty Money” draw inspiration from female rap veterans such as Salt-n-Pepa, Trina, Lil Kim and Foxy Brown just to name a few. “I am influenced by every female artist that has come before me, Salt-n-Pepa especially because they have always been a group that has motivated females.” States Angel Diva Growing up on the streets of Miami, and visiting the lavish strip of South Beach are indeed two different scenarios. South Beach is laced with fine dining establishments, faddish boutiques, and renowned nightclubs where V.I.P is the general admission. However both girls have no problem informing anyone that although they grew up in the city of Miami, they are no strangers to the critically acclaimed “Opa Locka” or “Carol City”. “I had a fun childhood; I was very active, cheerleader, dancer and drama student.” Nisha Rock Starr inserts when reflecting on her recent childhood up bringing. In recent years both artists have been close knitted with rap star Trina, by traveling, working and contributing to several released tracks. “She is a great mentor; we both appreciate the close relationship that we have with such a powerful female musical figure and businesswomen.” Nisha Rock Starr and Angel Diva have both admitted to branching on to other avenues of the entertainment industry when asked about future aspirations and goals, “We are both totally about female empowerment and unity.” “Pretty Money” is what every little girl wants to be when they grow up, fearless, independent and goal oriented. With characteristics such as these who could see otherwise and not give this female rap group a second glance, cause in the life of “Pretty Money” it’s not all about the “boys”. Pretty Money’s soon to be released debut album will mark as the new threat to the rap scene.
